About Stacey
My name is Dr. Stacey Lawrence. I am a Black woman, immigrant, first-generation college student, scientist, and educational developer. I am an expert in building meaningful STEM courses and learning communities. I love science and while I have three degrees in Biology, the majority of my educational journey is filled with course content that had very little meaning to me. I have a career in higher education because I want to work with instructors, specifically college faculty, to build better, more meaningful experiences for learners in their courses.
Since 2016, I’ve collaborated with faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students in teaching roles to develop their teaching and learning skills. As a lifelong learner, I love being invited into a course, physically or by reviewing course materials, to share my perspective on how instructors can use evidence-based practices and their own lived experiences with STEM to improve teaching and learning in their courses.
Let's Work Together!
My services are most effective for faculty who want to create more inclusive and equitable STEM courses, seek to design engaging and interactive learning experiences, and desire to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
